Terms of use

Free-beta terms. Paid checkout remains unavailable until operator details, consumer terms and this document have completed Dutch legal review.

1. What Expat Nannies is

Expat Nannies (expatnannies.com, "the platform", "we") is an online introduction platform. We help families ("parents") to find and contact childcare professionals ("nannies"). We also help nannies to present their services to families.

2. What Expat Nannies is not

We provide search, introduction, messaging and trust/safety tools. We are not the childcare provider, do not employ or pay nannies, and are not a party to the care agreement a family and nanny make. Legal classifications depend on the service and the parties' real conduct; a label in these terms cannot override mandatory law.

3. Working arrangements and legal status

Nannies present their own rates and availability. Depending on the actual working arrangement and applicable Dutch rules, a nanny may work as an entrepreneur or under another lawful arrangement, including rules for services in a private home. Families and nannies must assess their real relationship, registration, tax, insurance, wage and employment obligations; the platform does not decide status.

4. Profile review

We review a profile before publication. A “Verified” badge means only that the checklist recorded by our team at the last publication review was completed; it is not a continuous background check, safety guarantee, employment-status decision or endorsement. Material edits remove publication/verification until reviewed again. Parents stay responsible for their own screening before they trust anyone with the care of their children. That screening includes meeting the nanny in person, checking references and asking for documents such as a VOG.

5. Accounts and conduct

You must give accurate information, keep your login details safe, and use the platform only for its intended purpose. We may suspend or remove accounts or profiles that give false information, misuse the platform, or damage trust in it.

6. Introductions and contact details

Contact details are exchanged only when a nanny accepts a parent's introduction request. After an introduction, all communication, agreements, and arrangements are strictly between the parent and the nanny.

7. Messages and reviews

The platform has messaging that belongs to an introduction request. After a nanny accepts an introduction, the parent can publish a review. Our team may read conversations for safety, moderation and dispute resolution. We may hide or remove reviews or messages that are abusive, misleading or unlawful. A review describes the personal experience of the person who wrote it. It is not the opinion of Expat Nannies.

8. Fees

During the current beta, introductions are free. If paid plans are enabled, the checkout shows the exact one-off price, product, duration and any discount before payment. Plans do not renew automatically. Entitlement starts only after Mollie confirms payment. A Single Introduction is consumed when it is delivered; a silent, withdrawn request may be reused, while a delivered no-match may qualify for the displayed voucher. Mandatory consumer cancellation, withdrawal, refund and conformity rights always apply and override any conflicting wording here.

9. Liability

Nothing excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, Expat Nannies is not liable for indirect damage that arises from agreements or contact between parents and nannies, from the content of profiles or requests, or from the availability of the platform. Our role is limited to providing the introduction service described in these terms.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. We will announce material changes on the platform. Dutch law applies.
