Cookie policy

Launch version. A legal professional will check this statement before our full commercial launch.

The short version

Expat Nannies sets no third-party cookies. There are no advertising cookies, no Google Analytics or similar tools, no social-media pixels and no fingerprinting. Nothing on this site follows you to other websites. The few things we do store in your browser fall into three categories, and only the first one is required.

Necessary — always on

Two small items make the site work. Neither of them tracks you, and neither of them leaves your browser, except to sign you in.

WhatPurposeLifetime
Login token (a local-storage entry beginning with sb-)Keeps you signed in to your account between visitsUntil you log out (or clear your browser data)
Your cookie choice (en-consent-v2, policy version 2)Remembers what you decided on this page, so we do not ask againUntil you change it (or clear your browser data)

Analytics — optional, off until you say yes

We record a limited page count on every visit without a tracking cookie: page path, server time, rough device class and referring domain. This operational measurement is rate-limited and retained for up to 13 months. Supabase and Netlify necessarily receive network data while serving the request, but we do not store an IP address in the analytics table.

If you allow analytics, we store one random number (en-vid, sixteen characters, created in your own browser) and attach it to our page-view counts. It lets us see that the same browser came back, so we can tell the difference between one hundred visits by one person and one visit each by one hundred people.

What it cannot do: it contains no name, it is never linked to your account or your email address, it carries no IP address, and we never share it with anyone. If you refuse, or if you change your mind later, we delete the number from your browser. Page views are then recorded exactly as before: anonymously, with only the page address, the time, a rough device type and the domain of the site you came from.

Marketing — optional, and currently empty

We use no marketing or advertising cookies today. This category exists so that the choice is already yours if we ever consider one in the future. It stays off unless you switch it on, and we will list any such cookie on this page before we use it.

Changing your mind

You can change your choice at any time. The button below clears your stored decision and brings the choice bar back:

Refusing the optional categories changes nothing about how the site works. Every page, profile and feature works exactly the same either way.

When this changes

When configured, Cloudflare Turnstile protects authentication forms and Mollie hosts payment checkout. They may set or read strictly functional storage and receive network/device data needed for security or payment processing. They are not enabled by the analytics choice above. We update this table and request fresh consent whenever the optional purposes or vendors materially change.
